Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust

Le Loop follows the official route of the Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals and finishes 21 stages later in Nice (as the Olympics are in Paris this summer!).

On Friday 21st June 2024 around 100 riders will gather in Florence for the 'Grand Depart'. ~40 will continue for all 21 stages whilst others will join at various points along the way. I will be riding the last 10 stages taking in both the Pyrenees and Southern Alps 

I am, like every participant, raising money for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT) whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education. 

Since it's inception WWMT has now given over £5M - having a big impact that I have been lucky enough to see first hand for a couple of projects (including a visit to Wormwood Scrubs - where young inmates ready for release were being helped to find employment and hopefully avoid a cycle of re-offending). 

I am continuing my support for WWMT this year and hope you will help me add to the over £20,000 I have raised in previous years. Its been a tough couple of years for charities and particularly for young people. This is my chance to give something back and help support young people who aren't lucky enough to enjoy the advantages in life that most of us take for granted.

For the avoidance of doubt - fundraised money goes directly to the charity and is entirely separate from the participation fee - donations do not pay for my Tour
