Dear friends and family,
You are probably aware that Jeanne and I have set bike challenges each summer and we enjoy sharing those adventures with all of you. This summer we will be taking on an exciting new challenge! In the company of one other teammate (and several soon-to-be new friends) we will be riding Le Loop - a cycling event that follows the entire 21-day route of the official Tour de France one week ahead of the professionals. Le Loop is held each year to raise money for the William Wates Memorial Trust which aims to support disadvantaged young people through the mediums of art, sport, and education. As participants in Le Loop, our team aims to collectively raise at least £9000.
Participating in Le Loop will likely be the most difficult physical and mental test we have ever attempted. Throughout the 21 stages, we will cycle an average of 100 miles each day, across challenging, varied, and beautiful terrain throughout France. Cycling in Le Loop truly is the opportunity of a lifetime, made even more meaningful by the ability to support young people, and help build a more equitable future where all young people are able to enjoy the advantages that many of us take for granted. As past educators this nonprofit resonated with Jeanne and I, so we are happy to help support them. As we prepare for this adventure in June, we would very much appreciate it if you would sponsor our team and hope you agree that this challenge is worthy of your donation to this wonderful cause. The charity has no paid staff, and we each cover our costs for participating, so your full donation will go toward the cause.
Being 60 years old this year with Jeanne not far behind and our friend Gary being 68 our team name is Team Now or Never. Seriously the last time we took on a challenge this big we were almost 20 years younger!

We are taking on an epic cycling challenge: Le Loop.
Le Loop follows the official route of the Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals and finishes 21 stages later in Paris, some 3,400kms later on Sunday July 17th, 2023.
On Friday June 24th we will begin our epic journey to complete the entire tour! However we are starting both our training and fundraising now. We will be update our page as we get more information but for now please help us by donating.
All monies raised go towards the William Wates Memorial Trust whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfill their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education.
It's been a tough couple of years for charities and particularly for young people. This is our chance to give something back and help support young people who aren't lucky enough to enjoy the advantages in life that most of us take for granted.
Le Loop is no small undertaking. Riding even ONE stage of the Tour de France route is going to hurt! Please reward our pain by giving generously.
