Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust

Starting on Saturday 27th June I will cycle the first 3 stages of the Tour de France (2 weeks before the real thing), as part of La Loop to help raise money for the William Wates Memorial Trust.

This is not my first time. I did the inaugural ride in 2006 (then called the Tour de Force, and which annually follows the Tour de France route) and have done a few since. This time, I am doing it to support the 20th anniversary of the Trust.

This is personal. I was at school with William and played all my sport with him until we were 13. Unfortunately, Will was killed whilst traveling in South America on his gap year. Because of this his family set up the Trust which aims to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential through the medium of sports, arts and education. You can see more about the work the Trust does here:

Anything to do with the Tour de France is hard, and whilst not the mountain stages, I will still be cycling 190KM per day, and Barcelona is not flat!! And I am a lot older!!

So please reward my pain by donating to this great cause so the Trust can continue with its amazing work. Anything you donate goes straight to the Trust and is entirely separate from the participation fee - donations do not pay for my Tour.

Many thanks

Brett
