Cycling Le Loop. The Entire Tour de France Route…
This June, I’m taking on something completely bonkers, physically brutal, and honestly a bit daunting.
Le Loop follows the entire official route of the Tour de France, 21 stages, 3333 km (2070 miles), and 54,045 metres of climbing, one week ahead of the professionals. On Friday 26th June 2026, around 100 of us will gather in Barcelona for the Grand Départ. Some riders will join for a few days, some for longer… and a handful of us (yes, me!) will be riding every single kilometre, climbing the equivalent of six Everests along the way.
Why I’m Doing This
Every rider commits to raising funds for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT) and every penny donated goes directly to support disadvantaged young people across the UK.
WWMT funds charities that help young people steer clear of crime and violence by engaging them through sport, arts, and education. It’s work that changes lives.
And to be absolutely clear:
Your donations do NOT pay for my participation, travel, or kit.
Those costs are completely separate. Every pound you give goes straight to the
Trust.
Why Your Support Means So Much
It’s been a tough few years for charities and an even tougher time for many young people. This ride is my chance to give something back and to help ensure more young people get the opportunities they deserve.
It’s also fair to say that at home, we’ve become something
of a cycling household…
Training, recovery, nutrition spreadsheets, and a never-ending rotation of
sweaty lycra have taken over. Not to mention this trip uses up all my holiday
this summer. Let’s just say Kate and the girls deserve a medal too.
This Is Going to Hurt… A Lot
Riding one stage of the Tour de France
would be a challenge.
Riding all 21 is going to be brutal.
But if you can spare a donation, big or small, you’ll be helping me turn all that suffering into something meaningful and lasting for young people who need it most.
