Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust

Le Loop follows the official route of the Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals. On Friday, June 26, 2026 100 riders will gather in Barcelona for the 'Grand Depart'. Some cycle a few days, while others bike all 21 stages of the Tour de France route. After completing the full Tour in 2023, I will be returning this summer to join my friends and teammates, Harry and Jeanne McQueeny, for the second half when I will bike 1,701 km over 11 days, with 30,050 m of climbing through the Alps.

Every participant commits to raising money for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT). The fundraised money is separate from the participation fee - donations do not pay for my Tour. 

All monies raised go directly to the Trust whose mission is to help the disadvantaged young people fulfil their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education.

It's been a tough couple of years for charities. This a great opportunity for me to give back and help build a future where all young people are able to enjoy the advantages that many of us take for granted.
