Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust
My 2026 Le Loop Story
This past summer, I rode all 21 stages of the Tour de France route with Le Loop — every climb, every descent, every mile. It was one of the hardest and most meaningful experiences of my life. In 2026, I’m riding the full route again — but this time with a deeper reason.
In August 2024, my mom suffered a stroke. Watching her face recovery with such quiet determination has changed the way I think about resilience. This ride is a tribute to her strength and to everyone who keeps showing up through uncertainty and exhaustion. Every kilometer I ride will be for her — and for those rebuilding their strength one step, one breath, or one pedal stroke at a time.
About Le Loop
Le Loop follows the official route of the Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals, and finishes 21 stages later in Paris.
On Friday 26 June 2026, around 100 riders will gather in Barcelona for the Grand Départ. Some cycle a few days, some ride further, and more will join over the three weeks of the Tour. Riders tackle one of a selection of “Loops,” riding anywhere from 2 to all 21 stages of France’s most famous bike race.
Every participant commits to raising a minimum amount for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT). The fundraised money is entirely separate from the participation fee — donations do not pay for my Tour.
All monies raised go directly to WWMT, whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people avoid a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through sport, art, and education.
It’s been a tough few years for charities and especially for young people. This is my chance to give something back and help support those who haven’t had the same opportunities that many of us take for granted.
Le Loop is no small undertaking. Riding even one stage of the Tour de France route is going to hurt — please reward my pain by giving generously.
Merci! 💛
