Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust

Simple Headline: Support me in raising funds for the William Wates Memorial Trust and I will personally match £ for £ whatever you sponsor me.

Read on: Le Loop is an amazing challenge. I will be riding the entire 2026 route of the Tour de France (around 3,500km over 21 days). We are riding one week ahead of the professionals: the "pros" take about 4 1/2 hours per average day - I will take 8-10 hours per day. This is my Mount Everest (on a bike) and to be quite honest, although I have cycled a lot, I really don't know  whether I will be able to make it.  I am stepping a long way out of my comfort zone.

I will be raising money for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT) which organises the event. And to be clear the money I raise is entirely separate from the participation fee - donations do not pay for "My Tour". Yes, I am actually paying to do this! My wife Nicola definitely thinks I am mad!

All monies raised go directly to the William Wates Memorial Trust whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education.

It's been a tough few years for charities and particularly for young people. This is my chance to give something back and help support young people who aren't lucky enough to enjoy the advantages in life that many of us take for granted.

I am a keen cyclist but Le Loop is no small undertaking - it will be by far the toughest overall challenge I have ever done on a bike. Riding even ONE stage of the Tour de France route is going to hurt and I will be doing 21! Please reward my pain by giving generously.

Merci!
