Le Loop - supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust
Le Loop follows the Tour de France route, one week ahead of the professionals and finishes 21 stages later in Paris. We cover the same distance on the same days - just a little slower!
On Friday 27th June 2025 around 40 "lifers" will gather in Lille for the 'Grand Depart' and attempt the full route. This will be my third time. I don't think it gets easier with age. Many other riders will join for selected sections throughout the 3 weeks.
Every participant commits to raising a minimum amount for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT). The money raised is entirely separate from the participation fee - your donations do not pay my entry fee. No, I've had to get that expense passed by Val...
All monies raised go directly to the William Wates Memorial Trust whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people in UK keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential. This is achieved by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education.
All charities and particularly those supporting young people have faced a very challenging climate in the past few years. This is my chance to do something I love doing and, at the same time, help support young people who are not fortunate enough to enjoy the advantages in life that I know I all too readily take for granted.
Le Loop is no small undertaking. Riding even one stage of the Tour de France route is a big undertaking. Please reward my inevitable pain by giving whatever you can.
Merci mille fois!
Go Nick!!!!! I know you’ll nail it!
