Three Alpine Tour stages - July 2023!
Thanks for coming to my page - I hope you feel this is worthy of some sponsorship!
Le Loop follows the official route of the Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals. Some hardy souls do all 21 stages (and 3,400kms) but for those of us who can find an excuse to avoid that, there’s the option of a few consecutive stages instead. So I’m doing the three Alpine stages 13, 14 and 15 on 7th, 8th and 9th July. There are some big peaks.
All the riders commit to raising a minimum amount for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT). The fundraised money is entirely separate from the participation fee. Donations do not pay for my trip in any way.
All monies raised go directly to the William Wates Memorial Trust whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence and fulfil their potential. They do this by giving grants to charities that engage young people through the medium of sports, arts and education. We all know this is an excellent cause; it is a simple equation. I suffer greatly cycling up and down the mountains; you hopefully sponsor me (suffering on your part is optional); the WWMT changes young lives. Pain equals progress.
It's been a tough couple of years for charities and particularly for young people. This way those of us lucky enough to do this - you and I - can give something back and help support young people who aren't lucky enough to enjoy the advantages in life that most of us take for granted.
Thanks for reading to here. Let’s do it.
Onwards and upwards!
Peter
